Wildlife in Nata Conservation Trust

Small herds of blue wildebeest and the occasional springbok and gemsbok may be seen on the grasslands and around water filled small pans. In 2016, about 60 zebra were introduced into the sanctuary from the Tuli Block and many of the wildebeest have migrated here from Nxai Pan [well known for it’s lions] to escape predators. Along the Nata river, look out for troops of baboons and vervet monkeys especially around the palms. Yellow mongoose and ground squirrels may often be seen darting across tracks.
